Waxes
Waxes are a broad class of lipophilic, malleable organic compounds that are solids at ambient temperature. They are broadly classified into animal, plant, and petroleum/synthetic wax.
Kamsource is the number one supplier of synthetic waxes across the globe. We supply pure, quality controlled, and inspected waxes that passes all physical properties test parameters as indicated by the ASTM testing procedure on wax quality control.
From construction boards to candles, to rust protective products and even emulsions, waxes find their use in a range of industrial production processes and products. Kamsource supplies three types of waxes, namely: Slack wax, Paraffin wax, and Microcrystalline waxes.
Slack Wax
Slack wax is a yellow to dark-colored crude petroleum product and raw material for paraffin wax. It is essentially a mixture of unrefined paraffin wax and oil, which can be separated by industrial processes.
Slack wax varies from light to heavy grade depending on its melting point and has an oil content range from 5% to 30%. Slack wax is used to produce all grades of paraffin wax by deoiling and bleaching processes. The deoiling process decreases the oil of slack wax by different methods, after which a bleaching process discolors the slack wax from yellow or brown to white.
Slack wax has other applications as well. It can be used to make candles, polishes, inks, moisture vapor barriers, and so on.
Paraffin Wax
Refined paraffin waxes are blends of saturated hydrocarbons purified by modern, environmentally friendly technologies. All our products are constantly monitored by a stringent quality control system, are nontoxic, and meet the highest requirements and expectations.
Paraffin wax finds its use in a broad range of applications such as lubrication, coatings, waterproofing, cosmetics, and therapeutics
Micro-Crystalline
Microcrystalline waxes are petroleum products that differ from paraffin wax by having much finer and less distinct crystals with a much higher viscosity and melting point.
Micro and macro crystalline waxes are renowned for a wide range of possible applications. Their use ranges from relatively simple applications to process-oriented tailor-made blends for state of the art production equipment. Specialties are also created for innovative solutions.
